Last Wednesday I did three sketches – each using watercolour pencil (Albrecht Durer by Faber Castell) and each used a different method.
1. Morning coffee: watercolour pencil first, watercolour second
2. The Rocks (while sipping my afternoon coffee) watercolour pencil shapes first, then ink, then more watercolour pencil (WCP). As I only had 10 minutes to do the sketch I kept the WCPs dry.
3. The Garrison Church. A few watery watercolour shapes first, then WCP into dry, damp or wet areas, a little more watercolour then a little more WCP.

Watercolour pencil are so versatile!

I really enjoy seeing your experiments with various media. My favorite of these is the Garrison church – it glows!

My favourite is also the Garrison church. ButI am curious as it does sound like this method takes more time, than the other sketches (still obsessed with the time sketches ake as a result from the WOL course 😉 )
Hi Martine – yes it takes longer but I just checked… it was only 20 minutes which is still pretty quick,
That’s pretty fast, although I could never match your fast pace of sketching;-)
Lovely seeing examples of different techniques for the watercolor pencils. I’m excited to try more techniques for myself!
