Day 2 of our Urban Sketchers Sketchmeet in Sydney was a wet, windy cold day. It changed from summer to winter overnight!
We spent the whole day at Cockatoo Island, which although it is a bit exposed, has plenty of shelter – everywhere you look there is interesting stuff to draw. I spent a lot of the day chatting rather than sketching – I can sketch at Cockatoo Island anytime but it is a special treat to have Urban Sketchers from Cairns, Brisbane, Canberra and Melbourne with us.
Lots of wet in wet especially in the morning when a number of people got stranded outside under their umbrellas in a torrential downpour! Some people’s work washed away!
Lots of interesting watercolour textures from the light misty rain as well. Oh! what fun we had despite the weather!
And then this afternoon….

wow Bondi on saturday would have been a bit miserable!! but hope you had fun
Great photos! I like that you all kept on even with the rain.
of course Joan… it was only a ‘little’ rain!!! the bigger issue was in fact whether people were dressed warmly enough as it was cold.
