I visited Martin Place today to sketch the huge field of flowers that has sprung up in response to this week’s tragic events in Sydney – at the Lindt Cafe in the very heart of the city.

It was an overwhelming scene to try to draw for many reasons but it is even harder to express in words. In many ways it is easier to attempt it with paint and ink.
