I haven’t done much teacup sketching lately which is a sign of how many things have been going on in the past few months. 🙂 But last week, I decided it was time to start again.
This is a newish cup that I bought to celebrate my big move earlier in the year – my ‘leaving Lindfield’ cup. It’s part of the Palazzo range by T2: “Where the tea is flowing, the colours are mesmerizing and ethereal glamour is served up with every pour. ”
It has a very complex pattern, so it’s good to get to know it using a watercolour pencil initially. I’ve only sketched it twice before – see here and here – so I don’t really know the pattern that well. Next time, I might do a paint-only version 🙂

Love the way you handle the watercolor! I do hopeyoou are sometimes making larger paintings . I know you’re very very busy with all things sketching, but with the skills you have developed in watercolor painting I have no doubt your larger paintings would be beautiful!
THanks Patricia – I’m not doing any larger works at the moment. It might change one day but for now my focus is simply capturing my life in my sketchbook. And using an A4 book is a way to work larger 🙂

That’s a beautiful cup! It’s been a big year for you! It’s expected for it to take some time for the dust to settle. Looks like this would be a great pattern to do in watercolor only! Looks prime for watercolor magic!
Hi Jamie – I will have to do some simplifying to do in watercolour only – it’s got a lot of different colours and shapes.
