Lots of holiday sketching

December 30, 2024 | 4 Comments

I’m back to work today after a wonderful few days break,  spending time with family and friends and doing a lot of holiday sketching.

Our main family gathering was on the 26th, so it turned out that I spent most of the 25th on my own sketching. I went to Lindfield and then into the City. As we had our usual Wednesday night service at church, I saw my family in the evening. I find it really fun to be out and about sketching on my own (or with friends) on the 25th, and I love being able to observe and feel the vibe of the day. If you are interested, here is a link to a special Xmas day in Singapore years ago.

Boxing Day was busy with family gatherings – at my parents and then afternoon tea at my place. And then my friend V (from Port Macquarie) visited me for 2 nights.

Lots of sketching – and lots of incomplete pages that I had to finish off this morning. :- )

Here they all are.

I hope that you had a lovely holiday week.

What a lovely long post! Lots of sketches to enjoy and ideas to think about, as well as seeing how a few days of sketching fit into your life. A good end to the year, thank you for all the learning and enjoyment. Best wishes for the year ahead, looking forward to it.

How long did it take you to sketch the national park? I just love your coffee sketch at the very bottom. Did you use neocolor there?

Hi Marta – looking at my photo time stamps it took me 50 minutes – very relaxed pace for me. And yes! last double coffee sketch is neocolor – just a few strokes and the sketch was done!
