I’m really excited to announce that I will be doing a live sketching architecture demo tomorrow with the wonderful Maria from Art Toolkit on Instagram.

Maria Coryell-Martin is the creator of the Pocket Palette and the Demi Palette – super compact and highly versatile watercolour palettes. In this photo you can see an empty Pocket Palette ready for paint… so maybe in the coming week I will finally get around to filling mine up!

Maria is an expeditionary artist and I find her sketching very inspirational – I mean, how many people do you know who sketches around polar bears, leopard seals, emperor penguins, and narwhals? Talk about extreme sketching. She has a personal blog here. One day I hope we can go out and do some wilderness sketching together in the Pacific Northwest, but until then, hanging out in an Instagram live will have to do!

But back to sketching buildings…

I’ll be talking about my book Five Minute Sketching: Architecture, sharing my top tips for sketching complex buildings and do a few fun demos of some fancy Italian buildings.
