Last week I had a more relaxed week in terms of my virtual sketching trip based in the tiny town of Montone, Umbria.
I spent the week roughly going through the itinerary for the Palladian Odyssey Umbrian Tour and doing a number of quick loose sketches. It’s much harder to create lively sketches when working from photos, so I try to sketch in limited time periods. I also did a few experiments so that I could use them as examples this week. Starting today we are hosting a Virtual Sketch Tour for the people who had signed up for this year’s tour. It’s really great to be able to spend another week (virtually) in this beautiful part of Italy.
Here are my sketches and the full spreads…

Can’t believe you’re pulling off this virtual tour thing. Your page spread designs look AMAZING!!
Thanks Paul! I’m having so much fun!
Hi,
I love the way you’ve presented your art – are these scans of the sketch book?
Yes they are scans, but I have a base template that I add the individual spreads to!
Hi,
Are your sketches of Montone for sale?
Thanks,
Allen
Hi Allen. Sorry they are inside my sketchbooks so not for sale
