We had a perfect December meeting of the group today at Martin Place – a goregous day and a wonderful group of over 30 sketchers. As usual for one of these meetings I didn’t really get a chance to sketch much, but ended up with 4 very loose experimental sketches of the old Sydney GPO building – it is much more about spending time with others than producing my best work. As long as I do something I am happy and, as always, am inspired by the amazing work of others who are a somewhat more focused.
It has been great to see the group grow over the last few years and I am very appreciative of all the hard work Chris Haldane puts in to organising the events every month. Thanks too to everyone that turns up each month!
I had lunch and spent the afternoon with some friends and ended up at Barangaroo Reserve, and managed to sneak in a quick sketch on the page while an icecream was being eaten. So this is a combination of the old and new towers of Sydney. BTW my friend Pete came up with a new hashtag for us to use: #barangaroovy!
And here are a few photos from this morning…
