I’m away at Port Macquarie for a little break. It’s so good to be back – catching up with friends and sketching the beaches in this lovely part of NSW.
I normally use an A4 Moleskine sketchbook when I come to Port Macquarie but this time I’m using a smaller 9×6 hardcover Alpha book. It’s a bit of a challenge to fit big landscape scenes in this size book (especially as I’ve been using A4 for the last few months!) but I am enjoying the casual nature of a smaller book and I’m doing lots of sketching.
As I’m away and focusing on the Sketching Retreat I won’t be publishing any new articles here on the blog for the next week.
I look forward to seeing your work from the Sketching Retreat in the coming days and also to catching up on all my Port Macquarie sketches when I’m back.

So, so gorgeous! What a beautiful sketch. I’m loving the way you captured the waves and surf. Amazing! As always.
